Sleep Apnea is a disorder, which is, related to sleeping. In this issue, the breathing consecutive starts and stops. In common language, called snoring. The breathing gets disturbed in this serious sleeping disorder. Some experts say that in this disorder the brain and the body do not get enough oxygen. One not getting proper sleep may get frustrated in life or in his work. Thus, one may feel tired even after a full night sleep.
Symptoms Of This Disorder
This sleeping disorder can happen to anyone is that to any person of any age group. Hence, it is very necessary to know the symptoms of this disorder. Many symptoms show you that you are suffering from this disorder,namely:
- Morning headache
- Snoring loudly
- Suffering from the insomnia
- Periods in which breathing stops while sleeping, as reported by the other person
- During sleep gasping for air
- Arousing with a dry mouth
- Daytime excessive sleepiness is that hypersomnia
- Having a problem in staying active
- A problem in paying attention while awake
Types Of This Disorder
This sleeping order has many types but the main types are as follows:
Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA)
In this sleeping disorder, the airways are, fully or partially blocked when you fall to sleep. In this, the airways partially or fully blocked as a result problem in breathing occurs. Thus, this type of sleep apnea is the most common sleeping disorder and found more in men than in women.
In this during sleep as the throat muscle, get relaxed. Thus, it allows all the fatty tissues of the throat to block the airways. During an apnea occasion, the air is limited from moving past the hindrance reducing blood stream to the brain. The Obstructive sleep apnea has many causes some of them are:
- Old Age
- Heavy weight
- Natural causes
Central Sleep Apnea (CSA)
This sleeping disorder occurs when the muscle responsible for breathing fails to receive signals from the brain. Central sleep apnea is a less common sleeping disorder and found more in men than in women. Hence, this sleeping disorder is a communication problem, unlike the OSA. Some of the reports claim that there are around 20% of cases of CSA.
The central sleep apnea has many causes some of them are:
- Failure of heart
- Some medications such as narcotic painkillers
- Any medical condition that affects the brain stem including the brain stroke and infections
- Parkinson’s disease
