The reason for dreaming, you ask? Well, I’m not going to tell you why dreams exist, but you can use this article to discuss the many myths surrounding the phenomenon.
Myths about dreams include they are really just dreams made up by children and the use of certain drugs as a way to stop a person from sleeping. Those are both false. And, at the same time, they are myths that should be put to rest.
Is It Only The Kids Who Make Majority Of Dreams
It’s not the kids who make up the majority of dreams. Although they can be a good source of data, the majority of these dreams aren’t really made up. Most are factual in nature. A few are made up, but they are not usually related to everyday events.
If you’ve ever been subjected to such hallucinatory occurrences as those seen in the movies, then you know what I’m talking about. These are things such as a house or even a home turning into a maze in the middle of the night. There is more of this than people realize. The same holds true for dreams.
It’s true that most dreams are made up, but some of them are also true. They are commonly the result of people falling asleep. In fact, most dreams happen because someone is trying to get someone else to fall asleep.
For example, if you were having a normal sleep, then you probably would be seeing an image of something when you go to bed. If you are seeing a car, you will probably see it as being different than if you were in REM (rapid eye movement) sleep.
When you are dreaming in REM sleep, you are able to see different images and themes. However, you may not be able to remember them. However, your mind will be able to link these images with certain emotions and situations.
When you are dreaming in a normal state, you will rarely be able to recall dreams. However, when you are dreaming in REM sleep, your memory of the images you see in your dreams is tied directly to what you are feeling at the time.
Knowing More About Dreams
Therefore, if you find yourself having a particularly dreamy dream, chances are that you are also having a vivid dream. If you’re in REM sleep, the images will be detailed and vivid. You will even be able to speak about dreams as if they were real.
You may be able to relate to the dreams and thus can talk about them as if they were a vivid dream. This is what causes most people to believe that dreams are made up.
Your mind will be able to link these images to certain memories. However, you don’t have to be accurate or have any specific experience to be able to remember dreams.
They may seem similar, but they are very different when they are completely different from one person to the next. For example, a lot of people have dreams about one particular area of their life. Those dreams can be very similar but may be rather different from the general subject matter of another individual’s dream.
